Retail security is of paramount importance for businesses throughout the UK. In recent years, the increase in retail theft has posed a significant challenge for businesses, local authorities and councils alike.
As a leading security provider, Triton Security are playing their part in supporting the Luton Business Against Crime initiative aimed at reducing crime and anti-social behaviour. Each month, representatives from Triton Security, Bedfordshire Police, Luton Council and individual stores, come together to review crime and shoplifting instances within The Mall itself.
This month, Triton Security’s client reported a decrease in weekly stock loss figures by ~23%, which was well received especially during the festive period when shoplifters often operate to their maximum capacity.
The collaboration of Luton Business Against Crime allows for greater visibility and more accurate insight into the retail security landscape across The Mall, Luton. The initiative aims to work towards improving processes to further prevent shoplifting and retail crime.
Steve Kinnon, Contract Manager, commented, “It is great to see everyone coming together to improve retail security across The Mall. Triton have been successful in improving the stock loss across our client stores but hopefully through collaborative reporting from Luton Business Against Crime we will be able to excel the positive improvement.”
